MRI Chillers for the Medical Community
Temperature Corporation manufacturer MRI Chillers for magnetic resonance imaging or MRI scanning equipment. Our MRI chillers are designed to handle the most demanding scanning environments.
Magnetic resonance imaging is a method of creating images of organs inside of the human body. Used primarily to demonstrate pathological or physiological changes in these organs, MRI scanning is a standard form of medical imaging used by the medical and biological professions in a variety of situations. In the medical profession these devices are often used to distinguish pathological tissue, i.e., a brain tumor, from normal tissue. Our MRI chillers remove the heat generated by these devices which can harm the machine and reduce its reliability.
A typical MRI scanner is cube shaped structure with a horizontal tube running through an outer ring which is basically a large superconducting magnet. Referred to as the bore of the magnet, the patient enters this horizontal tube on a special table. Once the patient is secure in the isocenter of the magnetic field, the scan can begin. Made up of untold billions of cells with different densities and composition, each individual cell in the human body reacts differently to the magnetic field of the MRI machine. Using advanced software, the MRI scanner distinguish these cells from one another on a molecular level and maps the human body and its internal organs into digital images.
Keep Your MRI’s, Linear Accelerators, Biograph Systems, CT Scans, and Blood Analyzers Cool.
For these scanners to operate at the highest levels of efficiency, the magnet inside the scanner has to be kept as cool as possible. There are two cooling methods available: air and/or water cooled chillers. While these MRI chillers are responsible for removing heat from the MRI scanner, they differ in terms of where they transfer that heat – either the surrounding ambient air or a water source such as a cooling tower. If your facility doesn’t have a reliable water source such as a cooling tower or a plant chilled water system, an air cooled chiller is really your only choice. A water cooled chiller is your best bet if you do have a cooling tower provided that the water is 85°F (29°C) and that the cooling tower has enough reserve capacity to handle the additional load.
We design MRI chillers, including water and air cooled chillers for the medical and scientific community. We work with the finest medical equipment manufacturers to engineer chillers that provide the cooling requirements their equipment needs. Our chillers have been tested over and over throughout the industry to meet the stringent requirements of the best medical equipment and has proven its reliability. We make chillers that cool MRI’s, Linear Accelerators, Biograph Systems, CT Scans, Blood Analyzers, and more.
